Aircraft Carrying US Defense Secretary Required to Touch Down in UK Because of Crack in Cockpit Window
An aircraft transporting Pete Hegseth was required to make an emergency landing in the UK on Wednesday following a fracture was discovered in the plane's windshield, per an official announcement which confirmed that Hegseth was safe.
"The plane landed in accordance with established safety measures and all passengers, such as Pete Hegseth, is secure," an official representative stated in a online announcement.
The secretary was coming back from a short visit to the city of Brussels during the flight.
This occurrence does not mark the initial instance that a United States armed forces jet transporting a senior official has experienced mechanical issues.
In a previous incident this year, a United States Air Force aircraft transporting Secretary of State Marco Rubio to Munich was forced to return to Washington after suffering a technical issue.
