Anthony Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Nigeria Following Deadly Car Crash

Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, officials in Lagos confirmed on Wednesday night. The fighter was part of a serious road collision near Lagos on Monday, a horrific crash that claimed the lives of two of his valued colleagues.

Recovering from Minor Injuries

Joshua had been receiving medical attention while healing from his light wounds, his promoter had said on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update online that Joshua was judged healthy enough to “recuperate at home”.

“Anthony and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two deceased friends as they were being readied to be sent home,” Omotosho said.

Honoring the Deceased

The two men who died were identified as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. Omotoso added that the champion was filled with sorrow and deeply emotional over the tragic loss of his two dear friends.”

This update on his health comes as the sports world offered condolences for the star in the wake of the heartbreaking incident.
