Warrick Stock, popularly known as DJ Warras, was attacked in the downtown area on the afternoon of Tuesday.

Authorities reported the forty-year-old media personality was confronted by a trio of assailants, with one began shooting at him before running away.

The purpose of the attack has not been established and no arrests are in custody, police said.

How It Happened

Police said that Stock was ambushed as he was exiting a location near the city center landmark.

He had devoted time at the property overseeing the implementation of security systems, which had been controversially occupied by squatters, as per local media.

"The report indicates the victim was approached by three unknown suspects after parking his vehicle, and they opened fire at him before fleeing the scene on foot," an official report stated.

Security camera video reportedly depicted a suspect with dreadlocks and dressed in what looked like a protective services outfit opening fire on Stock before fleeing.

The DJ attempted to flee after he was hit but fell down on the opposite side of the road.

It was further revealed that Stock had an gun that was not fired and nothing was taken during the attack.
