Star Refutes Anti-Vaxxer Views Following Voicing Disputed Coronavirus Documentary

Liam Neeson has given his narration to a recent film that questions the legitimacy of vaccinations and lauds one-time government figure Robert F Kennedy Jr.

The Documentary's Provocative Origins

Named "Plague of Corruption," the film is based on a popular book published by a disgraced researcher, who became famous during the pandemic for allegations that the illness was a result of a faulty batch of the influenza shot.

Her collaborator, a producer, has previously authored books with far-right radio host the Infowars host. The producer recently posted celebrating Neeson's participation in the documentary.

A Firm Statement

Representatives for the actor have issued a response pushing back against implications that he holds anti-immunization beliefs.

"Everyone can recognize that unethical practices can exist within the pharmaceutical industry, but that must not be confused with rejection of vaccines," the comment explains. "Neeson has never been, and cannot be described as, against vaccines. His long work with Unicef underscores his long-held support for global immunisation initiatives."

The statement added that the performer did not shape the project's editorial content and that inquiries about its content ought to go to the filmmakers.

Major Claims Featured in the Film

In the film, the voiceover provided by Neeson makes several controversial claims:

  • It suggests that pro-vaccine voices have demanded "unconditional submission" to public institutions.
  • It argues that "research has become dangerously influenced by politics."
  • RFK Jr is featured saying, "The core flaw with vaccines is that they simply are not safely tested."
  • It further attacks pandemic restrictions, arguing they caused severe distress that resulted in thousands of lives.
  • On the topic of pandemic shots, it cites a view that they were "developed too quickly" and seen as "hazardous tests."

Historical Controversy and Ongoing Disputes

The documentary further cites a past television report about AIDS medication trials on children, which was subsequently the focus of a BBC apology by the broadcaster for violations of guidelines.

In recent weeks, RFK Jr called on the Centers for Disease Control to change its longstanding position that there is no connection between vaccines and autism. This supposed link is repeated in the film, even with a new report from the World Health Organisation stating no connection has been found.

A Past Position of Advocacy

Differing from the documentary's narrative, Neeson has formerly shown firm endorsement for vaccines in his position as a charity ambassador.

Two years ago, he called vaccines as "an incredible human success story," adding that "The debate about vaccines in the past few years has forgotten how much benefit they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest human endeavors in our history."

"Plague of Corruption" concludes with Neeson's narration saying, "This marks not the conclusion of our narrative. It is the start of a different phase."
