Trump Calls Relatives of Shot Guard Members to White House

President Trump revealed on Sunday that he has extended an invitation the family of a National Guard member killed last week to attend the executive mansion.

He noted that he contacted her parents and they were “heartbroken”.

Details on the Devastating Incident

Soldier Sarah Beckstrom, twenty years old, was lost her life in a attack on Wednesday in Washington DC.

Her fellow service member, US air force staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, 24, is still in the hospital in serious condition.

Memorials across the state have been held in their honor.

Presidential Call

The commander-in-chief stated he’s proposed a visit to the White House for the parents of both individuals of the West Virginia National Guard.

“I said: ‘When you’re ready, because that’s a difficult moment, arrive at the White House. We’re going to recognize Sarah,” the president addressed the press. “And likewise with him, whether he recovers or not.”

Public Reaction

Mourners assembled over the past few days at the high school in the state to pay respects to Beckstrom.

Both they had been fulfilling duties with the state guard as part of Trump’s federal initiative to aid public safety in the capital.

Honoring Sarah Beckstrom

“She was the type of pupil that instructors hoped for. She carried herself with inner fortitude, a contagious smile and a upbeat demeanor that encouraged people around her,” the principal, the head of her former high school, stated to the media. “She was caring, compassionate and always willing to support those in need.”

Memorial arrangements for Sarah are yet to be finalized.

Legal Measures and Government Adjustments

Officials have accused a 29-year-old individual from Afghanistan with one count of homicide and two counts of assault with intent to kill while carrying a weapon.

The incident led the administration to pause refugee claims and temporarily stop issuing visas to possessors of passports from Afghanistan.

Condition of Andrew Wolfe

The airman, a resident of the city, began his service in early 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of Musselman high school, per the AP.

He continues to receive treatment and is “in a critical fight”, West Virginia governor Morrisey said on a news program.

Attorney general Pam Bondi stated on the program that she planned to meet with Wolfe’s family.

Memory of Beckstrom

Beckstrom, from Summersville, completed her education from Webster County High in mid-2023 and enlisted soon after, serving as a MP with excellence, per the West Virginia National Guard.

“She had a lot of kindness and she absolutely had bravery,” he addressed the crowd at the vigil. “Though her life ended too soon, she has made an impact that’s going to endure.”
